Mustang District Merit Badge Mania

Image
Registration is now open for the Mustang District Merit Badge Mania which will be held on November 4 and 11 at the Wise County campus of Weatherford College in Bridgeport  (not in Weatherford) -- same location as last year. To register or for more information, visit their website: http://www.meritbadgemania.com Adults, they are looking for merit badge counselors to help with this event. You can sign up as a counselor at the same website if you are willing to help them out. Please be aware that if your Scout wishes to participate in the knife workshops for the Mountain Man Rendezvous, there is a direct conflict with BOTH DATES.  Also, the November campout is the weekend of November 11 so that date is a conflict as well.

Letter of Thanks

Image
Troop 1910 received a letter of thanks from the Comita family for all of those who made a contribution in their son's honor.  We wanted to share their letter with you so that it would reach those who donated: Dear Bob and Troop 1910, Your email is all we have to communicate a personal “Thank you” note to you. We are so very appreciative of your generous donation to Reid’s Memorial Fund. Your kindness and thoughtfulness are uplifting during this difficult and sad time. We are confident your donation will benefit many for years to come. What a blessing for us and what a beautiful way to keep Reid’s memory alive. With much appreciation, Copper, John and Reynolds Reid Comita, a Boy Scout in a neighboring Troop died of heatstroke while on a hike in west Texas this past summer.

Recharter dues are as follows: Scouts are either $110 or $122 if your son wishes to receive the Boy's Life Magazine, (it’s an additional $12)  Assistant Scoutmasters and Committee Members are $35.50  The annual registration fee for youth members of Troop 1910 is reached from three components: National Dues – this fee is paid directly to the Boy Scouts of America for each youth in the unit and registers the Scout for the period
