Den Chief Training

Image
All Scouts who will definitely, probably, or even possibly be serving as den chiefs this coming school year need to complete Den Chief Training. Besides learning themselves how to be quality den chiefs, they also receive information to bring to their den leaders on how they are to work with a den chief. The Mustang District is conducting a Den Chief training class on Saturday, September 8 from 8:30 am - 11:30 am at Heritage Church of Christ and is being facilitated by GW Bell. You won't find a more qualified instructor with lots of ideas on how the boys can engage, inspire and lead these Cub Scouts right into Boy Scouts. That bridge to the program is an essential link in the Pack/Troop continuum. Please register by clicking THIS LINK There's no cost for the training.  Be sure to come in your full field uniform with your Scout handbook. If you have interest in being a Den Chief, please contact our DC Coordinator, Bill Nesbit

This starts with an enhanced online Youth Protection training course ("YPT2") that all volunteers must complete . Who needs to take YPT2?  Anyone registered in any volunteer capacity with the BSA All Assistant Scoutmasters All Committee Members Plus, anyone who plans to attend a troop function or drive Scouts to and from Scout events.  You do NOT have to be a registered leader to take Youth Protection Training.  In fact, the more of our Troop families that take it, the more protected ALL of our Scouts are! The updated course debuted in February 2018; if you took Youth Protection training prior to that, you’ll need to complete the updated course by
